Riboflavin USP Documentation Review

A lot-level documentation review for buyers searching for USP riboflavin—not an unsupported blanket grade claim.

Documented Quality. Independent QC. Traceable Lots. Immediate U.S. Availability.

Confirm the applicable riboflavin specification

Buyers searching for riboflavin USP typically need evidence that a particular Vitamin B2 lot meets an applicable purchasing specification. The public inventory summary does not establish a specific USP edition or publish a complete B2 monograph test panel. Request each lot's manufacturer COA to confirm the stated compendial reference, analytical methods and acceptance criteria. Do not infer B2 compliance from the edition references published for B1; these are different products with different documentation. A search term, page title or general quality description does not replace the source certificate or the buyer's own QA approval for the intended use.

Keep the two lots separate

The B2 inventory is 1,500 kg across two documented lots from Ruzhou Kunhe Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Lot 2025052801 accounts for 1,000 kg with a 98.88% independent Sigma assay. Lot 2025052901 accounts for 500 kg with a 99.65% independent Sigma assay. A requirement spanning both lots needs a review of both documentation sets. The higher reported assay should not be used to describe the entire 1,500 kg position. Ask for a quote that identifies the proposed lot allocation and quantities, then check that the qualification records cover the same material that will be supplied.

Understand what assay does and does not establish

The published manufacturer assay for lot 2025052801 is 99.3%; the manufacturer assay for lot 2025052901 must be reviewed on its COA. Independent results supplement those manufacturer records, rather than replacing them. QA should confirm the methods, reporting basis and any other required attributes on a lot-by-lot basis. Differences between reported results do not by themselves prove a test failure or a superior overall grade. Avoid ranking suitability on assay alone when your specification also contains moisture, impurity, identity or other controls. If a necessary test is not visible in the public summary, treat it as information to request, not as a passed result.

Include shelf life in the approval decision

Lot 2025052801 was manufactured May 30, 2025, with expiry May 29, 2028. Lot 2025052901 was manufactured May 31, 2025, with expiry May 30, 2028. Compare those dates with your receiving, production and finished-goods planning requirements. The remaining shelf life at receipt depends on the shipment date and should be checked before committing a purchase order. The inventory is held in South Carolina in palletized 20 kg fiber drums. Request the source storage instructions and any handling documentation your receiving team requires. Do not interpret a published expiry as an extension beyond the manufacturer's documented date.

Move from USP search to a controlled review

Send your intended application, purchasing specification, quantity and timeline with the technical-package request. Identify whether your team is reviewing the 1,000 kg lot, the 500 kg lot or both. Ask explicitly for the relevant compendial statement if USP status is a purchasing requirement, and resolve any edition or test-method questions before approval. Full-resolution COAs and independent Sigma reports are released to qualified buyers through the inquiry process, with an NDA where required. Commercial availability is subject to prior sale and final terms. A document request begins supplier diligence; it does not establish pharmaceutical, food, feed or other regulatory suitability on its own.

Keep the USP requirement visible in the inquiry

If USP compliance is mandatory for your purchase, state it explicitly rather than assuming the supplier will infer the requirement from a request for riboflavin. Identify the edition and any internal specification additions your team needs to review. Ask for the source certificate's standard statement and supporting test details for each proposed lot. This turns a broad search into a specific qualification question. If the returned package cannot establish a required attribute, record the gap and determine the appropriate next step through your QA procedure. Do not fill that gap with the standard references from another product or a general description of pharmacopeial quality.

The commercial discussion can proceed while technical review is underway, provided the approval conditions remain explicit. Tell Duke whether both lots are acceptable for evaluation or whether your requirement is restricted to one. A quote can clarify the proposed allocation, but it should not be interpreted as proof that the material meets a particular standard. Keep procurement quantities separate from the conclusions of the source-document review. At receiving, ensure the lot identifiers correspond to the certificates your QA team assessed. This preserves the connection between a USP-led search, a documented purchasing requirement and the specific riboflavin ultimately considered for production use.

Buyer QA and document release

Full-resolution manufacturer COAs and independent Sigma reports are released to qualified commercial buyers rather than published as unrestricted downloads. The public summaries are intended for initial diligence. Provide your company, intended application, product and kilogram requirement when requesting the source package. Identify the proposed batch or lots and any specification questions so that the review addresses the actual material under consideration. An NDA may be required for supporting documents.

Final suitability is subject to the buyer’s QA, regulatory review and supplier approval. No claim beyond the source documentation is made or implied. A request for information, a sample or a quote does not reserve inventory. Availability and shipment terms must be confirmed before purchase.
